Summer 2024 in New England is a time filled with joy, adventure, and endless possibilities. While we embrace the fun, it's crucial to prioritize safety.

Here are some adventure and safety tips to keep in mind:

Driving: Be aware of road construction, pedestrians, bicyclists, runners, tire blowouts, engine overheating, summer storms, and increased animal activity to keep yourself and your family safe on the roads this summer.

Pools: Your family's safety is our top priority. Always watch children and pets around pools, and consider installing a fence with a self-locking gate/door alarm. It's a good idea to have CPR training and to cover your pool when it's not in use.

Grilling: Before using a propane grill, check the gas tank for leaks, and always open the lid before lighting it. Never leave a grill unattended, and keep children and pets at least three feet away from the grilling area.

Mosquitoes: Jeffrey Riffell from the University of Washington suggests mosquitoes are attracted to red and black colors but dislike white and green. To help keep mosquitoes away from your yard, try planting basil, mint, lemongrass, lavender, and lemon thyme.
